Dr Michael Olugbile (DMO), an adviser to the immediate past governor of Osun State, through his NGO, the Grassroots Initiative For Positive Socio economic Development (GIPSED), has awarded scholarship to no fewer than 110 tertiary students in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, AMILOADED reports.

GIPSED, an NGO established by Dr. Michael Olugbile and his wife, awarded the scholarship to the students at an event held at Okuku Town Hall on Friday 31st Of December, 2021.
It noted that a scholarship committee made up of leadership of Federation of Odo-Otin Students Union (FOSU), all Presidents and Vice Presidents of Students Union in each community in Odo-Otin LGA was put together to disseminate the link for the online application form.
The NGO added, “A total of 198 applications were received across all communities in Odo-Otin LGA.
“A Selection Committee comprising of Federation of Odo-Otin Students Union, NUT representatives, APC members and GIPSED team was constituted. 16 people participated in the committee.
“The Selection Committee agreed on the number of beneficiaries to be selected based on the available resources and selection criteria and allocation to each community was decided based on number of valid applications.”
It further noted that out of 198 applications received, only 175 applications were valid, adding that 110 students were eventually selected.
“In addition to the scholarship grants for tertiary institution students, there are also 110 DMO Scholars in Secondary Schools and Primary Six across all communities in Odo-Otin LGA. This DMO Scholars has been enjoying full scholarships since 2018.
“Also in 2021, 106 students across all communities in Odo-Otin LGA were beneficiaries of UME/JAMB Sponsorship and preparatory classes provided by Dr Michael Olugbile through GIPSED,” it stated.
