Lawmakers Commend VC’s Accountability As Osun State University Defends 2021 Budget

Lawmakers of the Osun State House of Assembly has praised the Vice-Chancellor of the State University, Professor Labode Popoola for his accountability and intolerance for corruption.

 

On Wednesday, the Management of Osun State University presented and defended the 2021 budget of the varsity at the hallowed chamber of the state’s assembly complex, Osogbo. Osun state capital.

 

Adebayo said the VC’s accountability and integrity have aided the growth of the University from what it used to be to what it is now.

 

Popoola, during his presentation, showcased the state of the University before his intervention and also explained in detail how the 2020 budget was executed and projected the implementation of the 2021 budget.

 

In further applause of the VC, the Chairman, House Committee on Education, Honourable John Babatunde Ibirogba praised Poppoola’s zero tolerance for corruption in the University and the infrastructural developments that they have achieved in the six campuses of the University.

 

Ibirogba also advised the VC and his team to remain focused and keep the flag flying.

 

The Commissioner for Education, Honourable Folorunso Oladoyin who was represented by the special adviser to the Governor on Education, Mr Jamiu Olawumi while responding to the VC’s presentation observed that the tertiary institutions in the state need more hand in other to be elevated.

 

Olawunmi promised that the ministry of Education would improve on their activities at all levels of learning in the state and solicit for cooperation and assistance from the house committee and state assembly at large.
