World Toilet Day: Oyetola’s Wife Says Osun State Has Made Progress In Curbing Open Defecation

 

The wife of the Osun State governor, Kafayat Oyetola who is also an ambassador Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) has said that the state government has made progress in curbing open defecation.

Mrs Oyetola said this in a statement issued on Wednesday in commemoration of November 19, 2020, World Toilet Day.

“The whole World Commemorates World Toilet Day today. The day gives us the opportunity in Osun to reflect on the progress we have made so far in ensuring that each resident of our state has access to a decent and sanitary toilet.

“We have made some remarkable progress together in the efforts to rid our State of the practice of Open Defecation,” the governor’s wife said.

She appreciated the local governments in the state that has imbibed the use toilet campaign while calling for others to join.

“As at this day, quite a number of our local government areas have imbibed the use toilet campaign. I thank the people of these areas for this pioneering role. I urge our people in other areas to emulate them and help ensure that each house has a toilet at least,” she stated.
