Standard Bearers Reverts To Virtual Option For CMP Scholarship Exam

Career Mentorship Program (CMP), a flagship program of a faith-based Standard Bearers Organisation in Nigeria will now hold virtually in November, 2020.

This was contained in a press release signed by its National Coordinator, Dr Abdulhafeez Bello.

The CMP is a program targeted at the SS3 students to prepare them for the final year examination with a view to offering scholarships to the brilliant but indigents students.

Dr Bello, a consultant pediatrician at the Federal Medical Center, Bida, Niger State said the decision to revert to virtual platform for the Career Mentorship Program screening examination was as a result of the rampaging Corona virus pandemic.

He said the virtual option will make it easy for all registered candidates to do the examination from the comfort of their homes.

“Another novel idea with this year’s episode is that three states in the Northern part of the country (Abuja (FCT), Kwara and Niger) have joined the initial three states from the Southern Nigeria (Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states) which have benefitted from the program since its inception in the last 5 years.

“CMP, a faith-based organisation aims to assist indigents but brilliant Muslim students by awarding scholarship to pay for their WAEC/NECO examination”.

He said JAMB fees would also be paid for candidates that distinguish themselves in the screening examination which will be conducted by the CMP.

“Other consolation prizes include: free online training on life changing skills for the overall 50 best students, as well as invaluable educational materials amongst other prizes

“Registration which has been opened for over a month will close on the 30th of October. Online mock examination will hold on the 31st of October. The main examination, which will be a test of Mathematics and English, will hold on the 7th of November”, Bello said.

Almost a thousand students have since registered for the 2020 CMP examination.
