Man bags Three Years Imprisonment For Forging Court’s Stamp In Osun

Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife has sentenced a 55-year-old man, Adelakin Adeniyi, to three years imprisonment for Magistrates’ Court stamp forgery without an option of fine.

The convict was arraigned on January 9th, 2019 on two-count charge and he pleaded not guilty.

However, Adeniyi changed his plea to ‘guilty’ on February 4th, 2020 and the fact of the case was presented to the court.

 

During the convict’s arraignment, the Prosecutor, Asp Joseph Adebayo, told the court that Adelakin Adeniyi, committed the offence on Dec 10, 2018, around 10:00 am at Ile-Ife where he conspired together with others now at large to commit felony to wit: forgery.

He added that the convict forged High Court Affidavit stamp, Ife East Local Government Marriage Registry Stamp and stamp of Osun State Magistrates’ court, Ile-Ife.

According to him, the offence contravened sections 465, 467 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

Magistrate Habibat Basiru sentenced Adeniyi to three years imprisonment without an option of fine.
