PhotoNews: Oyetola’s Wife Presents Gifts To First Baby Of 2019

Thousands of babies across the country on Tuesday, January 1, 2018 participated in the competition of first arrivals in the New Year.

In Osun State, the first baby of the year, who weighed 3.1kg, was delivered at 12.09am at the state government hospital board Asubiaro. Osun state first lady, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola who welcomed the baby, presented the First Baby with money and various gifts, advising the parents to bring up the child in the way of the Lord..

The first lady who stormed the State Hospital locates at Asubiaro Area a month after the inauguration of her husband, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola welcoming new baby presented the cash and gift items to the 2019 first baby and other babies in the hospital.

Mrs Oyetola who was accompanied by the immediate past Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu and other senior officials of the ministry of health and top government functionaries took time off to play and pray for the babies .

The annual First- Baby- Of-The-Year celebration started in 2010 by the immediate past administration and the Office of the First Lady, through the initiative, celebrates the first baby born from 12 midnight on new year’s eve.

The first lady rejoiced with the parents of the lucky child and showered the child with prayers and also presented gifts to the family.

Speaking, Mrs Oyetola urged parents to take good care of their children, advising the parents to inculcate good cultural behaviour in their children for them to be a good ambassador of the state.

She noted that the state government was making frantic efforts towards combating maternal mortality in the state.
She reiterated the vision of the state government to give special attention to women and children in the state.

“I want to charge parents on the need to take good care of their children and instill in them good cultural behavior for them to be a good ambassador of the state.”

“The state government would do more in the area of health , the government is making frantic efforts to rehabilitate all the health centres in the state so we can have enough medication. Each of the local government would have a functional maternity.”

The parents of first baby, Mr Oluwaferanmi Abass Olaide and Mrs Oladosu Olaide expressed gratitude to the wife of the governor for the gesture.
