Viral Waste Seller Receives  ₦8 Million Donations, Food Items, Scholarship (Video)

A video of a 19-year-old Nigerian boy selling plastic waste and cartons to raise money for his work tools has gone viral on social media, drawing emotional reactions from Nigerians.

The young boy, identified as Samuel, was later helped by a content creator, a gesture that left him in tears.

In the video, Samuel was seen lifting and dropping bags of plastic waste at collection point.

He explained that each bag, which contained cartons and rubber materials, earned him between ₦1,000 and ₦2,000.

According to him, the money was saved towards buying tools needed for his tiling work.

Samuel was approached by TikTok content creator @bayuztvs, who asked him why he was involved in the waste business and who introduced him to it.

The teenager revealed that he needed money to buy work tools and that his parents were not aware of what he was doing.

Samuel explained that he had learned tiling years ago but could not start working professionally due to a lack of tools.

Listing the items he needed, he said: “Cutting machine, mallet, pitches, and knife.”

Moved by his story, the content creator took Samuel for a haircut, bought him new clothes, and treated him to a meal at a restaurant.

He was also surprised with one of the tiling tools he needed, alongside a new phone and ₦50,000 cash.

Emotional Moment Leaves Viewers Touched
Overwhelmed with joy, Samuel broke down in tears, rolled on the floor, and expressed gratitude to the content creator.

In the emotional video, he also asked to see his mother, a moment that further touched social media users.

In another video shared later, the content creator visited Samuel’s home and met his mother.

During the visit, she was surprised with ₦1 million in cash, a gesture that further touched social media users.

Samuel and his mother were also taken grocery shopping, where essential food items worth over ₦650,000 were purchased for the family.

Fans Donate ₦7.05 Million to Support Teen
Following the videos, fans and supporters of the content creator reportedly donated a sum of ₦7.05 million to support Samuel and his family.

The donations were aimed at helping the teenager fully settle into his trade and improve his family’s living condition.

In a major development, Samuel was also awarded a scholarship that will support his education up to university level, securing his academic future alongside his vocational career.
