AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE
The Value Re-Orientation for Community Enhancement (VARCE), in collaboration with UNICEF on a UNFPA-UNICEF Joint programme, has held a state level orientation meeting to eliminate Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Nigeria, AMILOADED reports.
The meeting which was held in Osogbo, Osun State, had executives of youth and women organisations in attendance with the aim to secure partnerships with the organisations for Movement for Good.
The Movement for Good is an online initiative of UNICEF which provides people with the platform to pledge their commitment towards ending FGM in Nigeria.
The various strategies that can be employed to further sensitise the public about the various complications of FGM were discussed at the meeting, as well as the need for collaborative efforts in eliminating FGM in Osun state.
