UNILORIN Approves Nine Bachelor’s Degree Programmes For KwaraPoly (Full List)

Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has officially entered into an academic affiliation with the University of Ilorin following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both institutions. The agreement was formalised at the Vice Chancellor’s Committee Room, University of Ilorin, in the presence of principal officers of the University and representatives of partner institutions.

Under this affiliation, Kwara State Polytechnic has been approved to run nine Bachelor’s degree programmes, namely:
• Mechanical Engineering
• Agricultural and Bio-Systems Engineering
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Statistics
• Computer Science
• Mathematics
• Business Administration
• Sociology

Students who successfully complete these programmes at Kwara State Polytechnic will be awarded University of Ilorin Bachelor’s degree certificates, making the institution a recognised affiliate of UNILORIN for these courses.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, emphasized that the affiliation goes beyond administrative formalities and requires strict adherence to UNILORIN’s academic and quality assurance standards.

He noted that graduates from affiliated institutions must reflect the University’s core values of excellence, character, and learning.

The Vice Chancellor further assured that the University of Ilorin would maintain strong oversight through regular monitoring, evaluation, and verification exercises to ensure that academic standards at Kwara State Polytechnic remain consistent with those of the University.

The Director of the Centre for Affiliated Institutions, Prof. Yahya Oyewole Imam, commended the management of Kwara State Polytechnic for its commitment and perseverance throughout the rigorous affiliation process, which involved upgrading facilities, strengthening staffing, and aligning academic structures with UNILORIN.
