A viral image of an unidentified Nigerian graduate has sparked widespread conversations online over the controversial National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) allowance.
The young woman, pictured during her signing-out ceremony, boldly wore a white shirt with the message: “TINUBU!!! MY 77K MUST COMPLETE”.
The photo, shared on Facebook, quickly gained traction, drawing comments that reflect the frustration and humor of Nigerians navigating the financial pressures of youth service.
Social media users didn’t hold back as they flooded the comments with sarcastic, witty, and critical takes on the NYSC experience.
“NYSC allowee be like person wey borrow loan for online and you can’t say na wetin u use am do be this,” wrote Succe Brown, highlighting how fast the allowance disappears.
Another commenter, Orlu Destiny Ebube, added: “Them go give you 77k, later chop 177k from you.”
Chimaobi Nweke lamented: “Them never tell you the truth,” while Khe Mmy confessed: “Me wey just start this NYSC journey, I have spent y on transport from Taraba to Lagos.”
Others injected humor and encouragement, like Angel Chibaby who wrote: “Papa must hear dis ooo,” and Taiwo Hemmanuel who warned: “Do not gree for ham ooo.”
