As Graphic designer bags N150,000 prize in Osun

The lawmaker representing Ede federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salam, has unveiled the Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Football Competition Logo, AMILOADED reports.

Salam promised to make the competition a state-wide contest.

The unveiling was held at the country home of the late former governor of Osun State in Ede on Tuesday.

This is as the graphics designer, Aramide Oluwaseun, was rewarded with a sum of N150,000 for have the best designs among 233 entries submitted for the logo contest.

Salam said the winner of the graphics designing mini contest was picked by a group of assessors who analysed the pool of entries received on his Facebook page, adding that the motive behind the mini contest was not only to get the most befitting logo, but also to bring the ingenuity and creativity of young Nigerians in the fore.

Speaking on this year’s competition, which is the third of it, the lawmaker called on well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies to support the competition by partnering with him, stating that the logistics for this year’s edition will be huge.

“The motive behind making it a statewide contest is that we know late Senator Isiaka Adeleke was a governor for all Osun and we believe with emergence of Senator Ademola Adeleke, we should not continue having it in the corner of our Constituency.

“I want to call on the local organising committee to ensure that the value is held. No room for any favouritism no matter how little. While I want my team from Egbedore to win, but I want to say that they deserve no favour. Integrity is very important,” he said.

The graphics designer, Oluwaseun, who appreciated Salam for the initiative said, “When I first saw it, I had no believe in it. I thought it would be like normal political gimmick. But I thank Representative Bamidele Salam for this. It will go a long way in motivating young people.”
