AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE
Young Leaders in Osun State from various local government areas have been trained on leadership by the Raising New Voices Initiative (RNVI) in the state for the last one year AMILOADED reports.
RNVi, a non-profit organisation, is a leadership training initiative with the target of raising 774 leaders in each Local Government Area across Nigeria.
Speaking at the event which commenced in March and ended on November 13, 2022, the convener of the group, Jude Feranmi JFK, said the Fellowship was out to train youths on the knowledge needed to excel in positions of leadership.
Feranmi said the Fellowship’s mission to raise at least a leader in each of the 774 local government areas of the country would help to transform Nigeria into what the citizens desire.
“We started this year with support from Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation in Germany and we have been able to complete this programme for these fellows this year,” the convener added.
However, an aspirant of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Opeyemi Oladunjoye, has urged youths in the state to join mainstream politics.
Oladunjoye said, “Our leaders who have been in politics for a very long time are not willing to drop the power aside for the youths and that is one of the major problem we are facing in Nigeria today”.
She also encouraged the youths not to relent “because politics have a lot of issues”.
Also speaking, Ambassador Jamiu Ganiyu said he has been in politics for a very long time, adding that politics “is not an occupation as it helps in building careers”.
Ayokunle Micheal, in his speech,said, “The youths are cowards we run away from challenges, challenges is part of politics. This so called leaders started as a youth, But the service mindset made them stay for long.”
The State lead, Babawale Jamiu Popoola stated that the program has been running for different cohorts, and this year programme was graced by past cohorts and alumni of NVCF.
The programme ended on November 26 with the presentation of certificates to participants.
