Former All Progressive Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirant, Engineer David Asalu Ayodele, popular known as ‘Asler’ in collaboration with Cocoa Research Institute Of Nigeria (CRIN) has on Tuesday empowered 132 farmers in Ejigbo,Osun State, Amiloaded reports.
This was part of his efforts to improve farm productivity in the state.
Asalu in his speech disclosed that the empowerment programme was organized to impact positively into the lives of the Ejigbo farmers as it is also biblical to do good.
Ayodele in an interview unveiled that he has lost twice when he contested for house of representatives ,he added that failure would not stop him from impacting into the lives of people
He said” the fact the I wanted to represent this federal constituency and I didn’t make it,will definitely not stop me from doing good to the people. Some times back ,you don’t have to be in a political position before you can impact into people’s lives.
“I have demonstrated that over and over again,this is not the first and this will not be the last,I fail and I strongly fail that whatever you do God is in his infinite mercy will definitely replicate and provide for you in other dimensions.
“Its biblical that give and it shall be given onto you. And that is basically what I’m doing now and that is the principle of what we are doing here”
Asalu promised during his speech to secure jobs for some of the youths of Ejigbo with Cocoa Research Institute Of Nigeria ones they are in need of workers as he has established a good rapport with the executive director.
The executive director of Cocoa Research Institute Of Nigeria (CRIN) represented by Mrs yahaya Mufiyat oluwatoyin advised th beneficiaries to support and pray forAsalu in order for him to continue the good works he has been doing in Ejigbo community.
One of the beneficiaries,Ajayi Matthew Akinwale commended Ayodele for the empowerment programme considering the increase in food price and agro chemical products, adding that it wasn’t his first time organizing such programme.
He said”I must commend the effort of Engineer David Ayodele Asalu for this broad initiative, because is not easy, considering the rising food challenge we have in this country today,for someone to deem it fit and organizing this kind of program for farmers,it is very much commendable.
“We have increase in food price, increase in agro chemicals and other products used in the farm and this person bringing it for free for farmers, it’s indeed a loudable and appreciably one”.
