An Osun-based businesswoman, Yusuf Falilat, popularly known as Ero Arike, has criticised the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, over alleged failure to distribute food items to residents.
The woman made the statement during a live video on her social media page on Wednesday, where she questioned why the state government had not provided food support to residents amid prevailing economic challenges.
Speaking in the video, Falilat said she was addressing the issue on behalf of Osun indigenes at home and in the diaspora. She alleged that the governor had refused to distribute food to residents and urged him to use available resources to provide relief materials, including garri and rice, to communities across the state.
She stated that the people of Osun would not vote for Governor Adeleke again, while also criticising those discouraging support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
She suggested that the governor should buy one trailer of rice for Iragbiji and three trailers for Osogbo, insisted that residents were experiencing hardship and hunger.
According to her, “Why did you not give people food? Don’t you know that food is important? Let’s assume you have spent all the Osun money you collected; use what is remaining to buy garri for the people. You must buy rice. Is that not how politics should be done? Buy one trailer of rice for Iragbiji and three trailers for Osogbo.
“Governor Adeleke has refused to give people food. Likewise, last December, it was Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, who distributed food to all Osun people; we did not see any from the governor. People are hungry. Instead, you were looking for ways to embezzle Osun money. Osun will not vote for you. Those who curse people not to vot for APC will never know peace.”
