AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE
The Osun State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has honoured the Osun Central senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, with the ‘Grassroot Mobiliser of the Year’ award, AMILOADED reports.
The award was presented to Fadeyi on Thursday at the NUJ Press Centre, Osogbo, the Osun State capital by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor of the state, Omipidan, saying the senatorial candidate was well deserving of the award bestowed upon him by the NUJ.
Receiving the award on behalf of Fadeyi, Comrade Popoola Oladayo Samson (Great-Emperor Ola), thanked the Osun State chapter of the NUJ for the gesture.
Responding, he said, “On behalf of Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, the Osun Central senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, I sincerely appreciate this great recognition. I am extremely gratified to be recognised by the noble and prestigious Nigerian Union of Journalists.”
He thanked and appreciated the NUJ for counting him worthy of the honour, promising not to rest in his oars but “will continue to pursue the common good of all, restore and integrate our country among comity of nations and see that the quality of lives of our people are improve.”
He said his decision to contest for Senate was borne out of desire to bring dividend of democracy to the doorsteps of the people of Osun Central senatorial district with a promise to provide exemplary leadership and ensure that democratic governance prevails if elected in the 2023 general election
