…as 350 students benefit from his education support initiative

The lawmaker representing Aiyedire Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Elisha Akinyemi Oderinwale, has awarded JAMB and WAEC scholarships to 280 students, while others received writing materials.

The third edition of his annual education support initiative took place on Thursday in Ileogbo, aimed at boosting the academic performance of students and nurturing future leaders.

Speaking with newsmen, Hon. Oderinwale explained that his experience as a former students’ union leader shaped his passion for education, stressing that he understands the challenges students face.

He maintained that education remains a priority in his legislative agenda, noting that if he had been given the same opportunities available to today’s students, his academic journey would have been easier.

The lawmaker revealed that a total of 350 students benefited from the initiative, with 180 receiving WAEC forms, 100 receiving JAMB forms, while others were provided with writing materials.

He added that some of the past beneficiaries of the scheme have already secured admission into various higher institutions in Nigeria.

In his remarks, the Olu of Ileogbo, Oba Habeeb Agbaje, commended Hon. Oderinwale for positively impacting the lives of students in his constituency.

The monarch emphasized that education support programmes of this nature would secure a brighter future for the younger generation and position them for success in life.

Oba Agbaje further noted that education is essential for personal and societal development, stressing that without it, individuals risk becoming irrelevant in society.

He affirmed that Hon. Oderinwale’s consistent interventions in education demonstrate true leadership and continue to bring joy to the community.
