AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE

A member representing Ife Central at the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiola Awoyeye, has fulfilled promise to sponsor the enrollment of 100 individuals from his constituency in the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS).

The beneficiaries include the elderly, physically challenged, and less privileged individuals.

The lawmaker announced the constituents’ enrollment during an event organised to celebrate his 100 days in office on Thursday.

Awoyeye, who commended Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s efforts in the health sector, noted that the governor had done a lot by enrolling all retirees and people living with disabilities into the Osun Health Insurance Scheme.

He said this initiative was a way to complement the governor’s efforts.

The lawmaker reiterated his commitment to good representation, emphasising that he has been actively working towards this goal and would continue to do more.

Awoyeye urged his constituents to continue to collaborate and support him.

Also speaking at the event, the OHIS Executive Secretary, Dr. Razaq Akindele, reiterated the importance of expanding the health insurance scheme in Osun State.

Akindele, who was represented by Pharmacist Sunmonu Olasunkanmi, said the agency was focused on moving the scheme forward.

He stressed that including more people from the informal sector was a crucial step towards expanding the scope of health insurance in Osun State, adding that enrolling 100 people in the scheme for 12 months was a significant move in this direction.

Akindele, who appreciated the collaboration between the agency and the Osun State House of Assembly, called on other lawmakers and philanthropists to follow Awoyeye’s gesture, so that more less privileged individuals could enjoy qualitative healthcare.

Two of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Comfort Farodolu and Mrs. Iyabode Jiode, thanked Awoyeye for the initiative.

Farodolu said the enrollment had given her peace of mind through access to healthcare.

Jiode, on her part, expressed appreciation to Awoyeye for the opportunity, saying it demonstrated the lawmaker’s genuine care for the constituents’ well-being.
