Osun 2022: Ibo Women Canvass For Oyetola’s Re-Election in Boripe North

IBO Women, in continuation of their grassroots campaign for the re-election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola ahead of the July 16 governorship election in Osun State, on Tuesday, visited Odo-Amu community of Ada, Soso, Ilupeju and Ga Fulani, AMILOADED reports.

The leader of IBO Women, who is the Osun State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Barr. Olubukola Olaboopo, led the women to the interior arts of Ada, to solicit votes for their principal, Governor Oyetola and to enlighten members of the community on the modalities of the voting process.

Odo-Amu community, Ward 8 together with their Baale, Chief Isaac Alágbe and party leaders of the APC welcomed the women to the community.

Speaking, Olaboopo said, “The first term of the governor was cut short by the outbreak of the COVID19 pandemic and despite that, his achievements are very impressive, please, support him to do more.

“Get your cards ready and vote appropriately in the specified columns for the APC. The governor is interested in the people, which is why he has set up a Welfare Scheme for the elderly, the widows and widowers and soon, you would start benefiting from it. At the gubernatorial level, kindly vote in Governor Oyetola, while in 2023, vote Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the APC.”

She further stated that the opposition should not be “allowed near the seat of power again”.

Erelu Obada and and Yeye Oyefunke Ojo, enjoined the people to vote Governor Gboyega Oyetola and not miss out through the “deception” of the opposition.

The Baale, Chief Isaac Alágbe in response, said although APC owns the votes of Odo-Amu community, their needs are numerous.

Mr Gbenga Adéwálé, APC Chairman, Boripe North expressed his appreciation to all present for the success of the campaign, saying their needs would be met provided their votes speak positively.

On his part, Yinka Ajayi, admonished Odo-Amu to play their part by casting votes for the capable governor and leave him to work at meeting their needs.

The women leader in Odo-Amu exposed the deeds of the opposition who according to her have been collecting there PVCs of people at the grassroots on the guise of keeping them, only to try to buy the PVCs later..

Several of the party leaders in the community commended the progress of the party in the community, which they said would lead to the reelection of Governor Oyetola in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

Soso and Ilupeju communities also welcomed the commissioner and her entourage of IBO, where she mentioned that the opposition “do not have it in their character to care enough to seek grassroots communities out”, saying they have redeemed it fit to seek them out to solicit for votes for Governor Oyetola “who is interested in the development of education, health and welfare of the people of Osun State.”

She said, “Governor Oyetola’s administration is one that listens to the plight of the people, therefore he ought to earn their support.”

Barr. Olaboopo urged them to go to their wards and seize the opportunity of the mobilisation of some INEC officials to the wards to get their PVCs.

The party leaders of both communities responded, saying they will support the Governor with their votes provided “he looks into their areas of need which are the repair of their road which is of high commercial value, a transformer and the status of a ward for the communities.”
