Opinion: Osun Commissioners Appointment: Why Gov Adeleke Must Ensure Equity, Fairness To Orolu By Abideen Olasupo

AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE

Dear Governor Adeleke,

With a sense of urgency and a deep concern for the welfare of my local government, Orolu LGA, I write this heartfelt open letter to you. Four years ago, I addressed a letter to your predecessor, which ultimately led to the appointment of a Special Adviser on Legislative Matters for our community. Today, I find myself once again reaching out to the highest authority in our state, as the specter of marginalization haunts us once more.

It is disheartening to witness the recurrence of a familiar pattern, where Orolu LGA finds itself overlooked and marginalized in crucial decision-making processes. While we were grateful for the appointment of a Special Adviser on Legislative Matters during the last government, it is disheartening to note that the recent nominations for commissioner candidates have neglected our local government yet again.

Governor, I appeal to your sense of justice and fairness to address this grave injustice. The people of Orolu LGA, who have endured systemic neglect for far too long, yearn for representation and the opportunity to contribute to the development and progress of our state. We believe in the potential of our community and the talents of our people, but our aspirations are consistently overshadowed by the denial of equal opportunities.

As the leader of our state, you bear the responsibility of fostering an environment of inclusivity and equality. It is crucial that every local government, including Orolu LGA, is granted fair representation in the nominations for commissioner candidates. By doing so, you would not only restore hope and confidence in the hearts of our people but also send a powerful message about your commitment to justice and equitable governance.

Governor, I beseech you to urgently intervene in this matter, reviewing the current nominations and ensuring that a commissioner nominee from Orolu LGA is sent to the parliament for approval. Your decision will determine whether our local government continues to suffer from marginalization or receives the opportunity it rightfully deserves.

Together, let us forge a future where all local governments are afforded equal opportunities to flourish and contribute to the progress of our state. By rectifying this oversight, you will showcase your dedication to fostering unity and creating an environment where every citizen can thrive.

Governor, I implore you to consider the plea of the people of Orolu LGA, guided by a strong sense of compassion and an unwavering commitment to justice. May your leadership be defined by your ability to address the concerns of the marginalized and restore faith in our democratic processes.

With a sense of urgency and hope for a fair and just resolution,
