The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set up a swearing-in committee ahead of the November 27 transition of power by Governor Gboyega Oyetola Governor-Elect, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, AMILOADED reports.
The committee was inaugurated on Friday at the party’s secretariat oversee the planning of activities for the November 27 swearing-in-ceremony.
The Osun PDP Caretaker Chairman, Dr. Adekunle Akindele, said he expects the incumbent governor to congratulate Adeleke on his victory and comply with the transition committee that has been set up by the governor-elect.
The elder sister to the governor-elect, Yeyeluwa Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, who spoke on behalf of Adeleke dynasty, appreciated the people of Osun for voting PDP and Adeleke , adding that she trusted God in the process as “Osun has become a reference point”.
She said, “Osun State has become a reference point in the country by winning the election against the incumbent Governor of the state. This is a great feat and I believe that Osun people will benefit from this.
“From November 27, Osun will have a government with human face.”
She, however, called on the committee to organize a unique swearing-in ceremony.
The committee chairman, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, urged members of the committee and sub-committee to see the great task ahead of them.
He said,: “It’s neither an opportunity for egoism, but an avenue to contribute ones quota to make things better, acceptable, laudable and glorious.”
