Actor, Yomi Fabiyi, has shed light on an ongoing court case of his colleague, Olanrewaju James, better known as Baba Ijesha.
Baba Ijesha was sentenced to a five-year cumulative term for sexual assault, indecent treatment of a child, attempted sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault by penetration.
He was found guilty of four out of six count charges and convicted in July 2022, after about a year-long trial.
The victim was reported to be the foster child of actress and comedienne, Princess Adekoya, who initiated the prosecution of Baba Ijesha.
Speaking in a recent interview on Kolaolootulive show, Yomi said: “Baba ljesha’s appeal process is still ongoing in court. There was no evidence that he slept with the girl, that was why the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment.
“He was called by Princess to shoot a skit and the girl also said it in court that she was called to shoot a skit. The person that actually slept with the girl is walking freely. The girl’s age is not 14.
“They never gave the court her birth certificate. We are waiting for the appeal court judgment”.
