AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE
Some youths across the 31 local governments and Area Council in Osun State have declared support for the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and other candidates of the party in the 2023 general elections.
The youths under the aegis of ‘Osun Youth 4 Atiku’ said in the PDP presidential candidate lies a new hope, direction and liberation of Nigeria.
Address members and journalists at the inauguration of local government chapters of the group on Friday, the Convener of the group, Barr. Pelumi Olajengbesi, said the group will work with other PDP stakeholders to deliver Osun for Atiku in the coming election.
Olajengbesi chided Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun state for declaring that he would deliver 1.2million votes for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
According to Olajengbesi, Oyetola is living in a fool’s paradise if he thinks he can deliver meaningful votes for Tinubu in spite of his electoral defeat in the July 16 governorship election in the State.
He said: “Our people need a new way of hope; our party, the Peoples Democratic Party is poised to give the people of Nigeria a new direction with Atiku Abubakar as the president.
“We, the Osun Youth 4 Atiiku, are prepared to galvanize young people, old and men and women across the state in particular and the people in general towards delivering massive vote for the flagbearer of the come 2023. To achieve this aim, we have today integrated our local government chapters and 323 Coordinators across all the wards of the 30 local government and Area Council.
“Our goal is to mobilise Nigerians, the people of Osun State to use our votes to replace the callous set of leaders in the current ruling party in 2023.
“Essentially, the essence of this press conference is to give clarion call to the disciples of change across Osun state; there is need for us to liberate this country from the penumbra of social political darkness.
“The current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has failed in all aspects of governance. The government failed in terms of the economic welfare of the people, security, education and economy.
“There’s a need for us to cement the spirit of nationhood in the Nigerian people. There is a need for Nigerians from the north, south and east to begin to see themselves as an entity as part of the Nigerian project.
“That is why we need a president who can articulate his goals; who can relate properly with the people of Nigeria in the South-East, North-Wes, North-East, South-South, North-Central and South-West.
