AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE

As hardship bites harder in the wake of recoloured Naira notes, the coalition of Osun Youth has deployed two of the 3C’s Aluta, Consultation, Consolidation ahead of confrontation, issued warnings to relevant stakeholders.

Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel a.k a Captain, Leader of Coalition Of Youth Voice bared that, “What happened here today is the decision of the group “Osun Youth Voice” ,We believe before confrontation there must be “consultation and consolidation” ,After all these attempts failed, we’ll begin confrontation, he said.

The group called on the state government, POS association, Bankers and
NUPENG which represents the fuel station owners association to have a dialogue in respect of the pummeling issues of fuel and cash scarcity. Reason we are here in this town hall meeting is to ask from side A,B and C, what causes the issues we’re facing.

Speaking at the town hall meeting, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye, SSG to state government, “Nobody’s happy with the situation in the country, there’s a kind of lacuna, he thanked the CSO in the state over his dialogue on the way forward to meet with the bankers, POS Operators, NUPENG and other relevant stakeholders to move the state forward.

It could be recalled that citicizens have bewailed they do not have access to their money in the banks, which led into POS operators to gulp their charges into about 20 per cent and above.

In a statement by Mr Osagie, branch manager of Fidelity Bank, Osogbo,Osun State, I’m sorry for this situation, we’re a banker, it doesn’t make sense to have money and keep it, yesterday since this lacuna begun, we had to shut our doors because we’ve no dime to pay anybody, no money in the ATM, we had to shutdown operation. As a bank, how would we be happy to shutdown because of low cash, we’ve done out best to dispense in line with the law, we’re following these strictly.

He averred that POS operators can have 100 agents filled on any ATM that’s dispensing, after collecting the whole monies, they come back and do whatever they wanted to do, there’s no bank today that sells money to anyone, he said.

He advised that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to make funds available to the banks to dispense properly, According to him, since the CBN has announced that the old #200 naira note should remain legal tender, the pressure would go down.

He advised Osun youths not to destroy any property, oozing, ” If you destroy a bank today, it would n’t help the ongoing situation but rather make it worse the more. Other bank managers such as JAIZ, Union Bank, Fidelity also advised that they should allow money to circulate to the rural areas, about a week agone, people in the rural areas resorted to trade by barter system, since they do n’t have access to cash.
