A Nigerian man who advocates against betting addiction has shared a poignant story he received via direct message.
On Saturday, March 29, he posted on X about a man who lost his entire wealth to gambling.
The story, taken from a screenshot in his DM (@john322226), reveals that the man sold five plots of land worth over N50 million and invested it all in betting.
He has since lost N100 million to his addiction and is now struggling to meet his basic needs. In addition to his land, he also sold a hostel he had built.
Despite multiple attempts to quit, he has been unable to stop gambling. He even lost N600,000 borrowed from his girlfriend for food to betting.
He expressed a desperate need for help to break free from his gambling habit and shared screenshots of his betting dashboard to support his claims.
Many readers of his heartbreaking story were left wondering why he continued to gamble despite having N100 million.
