Kidnappers Reduce N50m Ransom Demand To N12m For Kidnapped Varsity Students

AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE

The leadership of the Federal University Wukari, in Wukari local government council of Taraba state, has confirmed that the abductors of the two students of the institution are demanding the sum of N50 million as ransom.

The students who were last week abducted from a nearby restaurant, have been identified as Joshua Sardauna and Obianu Elizabeth.

While Sardauna was confirmed to be from the Economics Department, Elizabeth, as gathered by newsmen, was a Microbiology student.

Confirming the kidnapper’s demands, the Head of Information and Protocol Unit at the university, Mrs Ashu Agbu, said the kidnappers who earlier demanded a ransom of N50 million, have reduced their demands to the sum of N12 million.

Ashu, who spoke to our reporter via a telephone, said, “the kidnappers have reached out and from the N50 they had earlier demanded, they have decided to bring it down to N12 million.”

The kidnappers’ intentions, according to Ashu, were to abduct the owner of the eatery where one of the kidnapped students was working but snatched the students when their target was not found.

She said the kidnappers also notified of their intentions to come back for the owner of the eatery.

The school authorities in collaboration with the security operatives are still working around the clock to ensure that the students regain their freedom from the abductors unhurt, Ashu informed.
