JUST IN: Gunmen kidnap Benue Commissioner After Attending Church Programme

The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development in Benue State, Chief Dennis Ekpe Ogbu has been kidnapped.

According to Daily Trust, Ogbu was abducted along Ado-Otukpo road in the state while travelling to his Ado, home local government.

The commissioner was said to have attended a Church programme, where Senator Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial district, dedicated his newly inaugurated Campaign Council to God at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Otukpo and was going to his village in NDEKMA, Utonkon District of Ado LGA after the Church programme before meeting the unfortunate incident at about 8:45pm on Sunday, 4th December, 2022.

His Hilux vehicle as reportedly forced to a halt at Adankari junction about 9pm on Sunday, December 4, 2022.

However, the police have recovered the Hilux van, but the whereabouts of the commissioner is yet unknown.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Catherine Anene has confirmed the incident.
