Question: Can we meet you?

I’m Yakub Akeem Adebayo from Ilobu, Irepodun LG, Osun State.

I attended ADS Primary and Second schools.
I proceeded to Osun State Polytechnic, Iree in 2006 for my ND where I was elected as the First NAPAS Treasurer.

After a year I returned to the same institution for my HND (Accounting) and I graduated in the year 2000. I later further my education with PGD in Accounting (2009), BSc Accounting (2017), MBA Nexford University USA and MSc Accounting (2022) Nassarawa State University NSUK.

Question: We heard you’re contesting for the post for national president of osun state polytechnic alumni association, what do you think qualifies you for the post?

Yes, I’m contesting for the position of National President, Ospoly Alumni Association.

I’m qualified for the position because I’m a graduate of the Institution, I paid my dues and attended required number of Congresses.

Question: What qualifies you for the position of president? Do you have the educational background, the proper credentials, or professional experience needed to assume this post ?

Yes, I have more than required qualifications. The basic requirement is just that you must possess HND as a graduate of the Institution. I have several other certificates after the HND, such as PGD, BSc, MBA and MSc asides professional qualifications as you may find in my CV.

Question: How do you intend to tackle the challenges you might actually face if elected as president?

I’m an administrator and I have wider experience among the contestants. I’ve held several political and non political offices in the past.
I was Supervisory councilor for Youth, Sports, Women Affairs and Chieftaincy at Irepodun Local Government from 2008 to 2010.

In the year 2010, I was appointed as Special Assistant to Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (2010) and Another Minister of Agriculture (2011). After that, I was the National Vice President of Computer Bases Examiner Proprietors Association of Nigeria. And Now, I owned a firm of Chatered Accountant with 10 staff.

Therefore, I’m an administrator and experienced person who can effectively manage the Association if elected.

Question: What are your plans if you succeed in becoming the president?

I am contesting for the position of Ospoly Alumni Association (OSPAA) President to take the Association to the next level.
I have 5 Cardinal programmes to change the face of this association.

1. Unity Among all members and stakeholders:

In the past, up till now, there’s no unity in OSPAA and that’s why it’s been witnessing series of problems over the years.

Lately, some people held the Association in court for almost 2 years. The Association was shot down for a whole 2 years lately.

And it has been like that over the years.

What caused division in this association is usually the perennial election and by the special grace of God Almighty, I’ll put a stop to physical election as I’ll introduce digital system of voting which will allow more participation as all members of the Association will have equal right of participation. You can vote at any part of the world.

This will significantly put a stop to perennial crises in the Association and allow all inclusive government.

2. Introduction of Technology and Innovation into the operation of the Institution:
   Both the Institution and our Association will witness a rapid deployment of technology. The issue of not getting our Certificate, Transcript and other needed documents within a reasonable time will be a thing of the past with the introduction of new technology. Our members can stay at the comfort of their rooms to process their Certificate and Transcript without calling on anyone before they can get it within a reasonable time. This is key in my agenda.
3. Promotion of Synergy and Cooperation among Alumni members and stakeholders.
   When we promote Synergy and Cooperation among ourselves, those with opportunities will be able to locate those who need them. This will foster unity among members and people will benefit the more.

The unemployed members will be able to get job through this development and future business partners can discover themselves and more and more like that.

4. Facilitate Infrastructure and Facelift/Infrastructural upgrade of the system:
   I have all it takes to facilitate Infrastructure into OSPOLY and we shall equally ensure upgrade of the existing system.
5. Moving Alumni to the next level.: My programs and activities for the period I’m going to use shall take the OSPAA to the next level.

I promise you all that my regime shall be a pride to all and sundry.
