AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, GOVERNOR ADEMOLA JACKSON NURUDEEN Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke , EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF OSUN STATE.
22/03/2025
Dear Governor Adeleke
I am writing to you with heavy heart concerning the communal land dispute boundary crisis among Ilobu, Ifon osun and Erin osun communities.
The incident, which claimed alots of lives and lost of properties which have become homeless is a heartbreaking reminder of the dire economic situation in our nation, and this is really tough in the state of the living spring.
Your Excellency, while I recognise the grief and need for accountability in the aftermath of this tragedy, severals broadcast was released by the citizens of affected communities and alot from His Royal Majesty, Oba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola Akinyooye III, The Olufon Of Ifon-Osun.
As the chief security officer of Osun State, it is the government responsibility to ensure the safety of lives and properties, especially on or before the land communal boundaries dispute. This raises critical questions
- After several press release by the Olufon of ifon osun was there any proactive measures taken by the state government before it gets out of hand like this.
- Did your administration engage security to invite the people named behind the killing and wasting of properties.
- Was there any arrest of people during the first attacked that claimed lives and properties of Elentere – Boluwaduro PHC – Council Road – Ifon Magistrate Road Ifon – odo oje area ifon osun. Etc
Your Excellency, with due respect sir, it appears there was lapse in governance, as no significant action taken then to safeguard and refuse to scapegoat the very individual who sought to have make life miserable for the people in the affected communities.
I Urge You To
- Conduct an internal investigation to identify and hold accountable the official and agencies that neglected their duties in this matters.
- Arrest the people behind the camera causing conflicts, claiming lives, destroying of properties in the communities.
- Apologies to the affected families and the citizens that lost their lives and properties to the scene.
- Expedite the boundaries adjustment process to prevent further conflicts and loss of life.
- Provide support to affected communities, including assistance for rebuilding damaged properties
- Ensure lasting solutions to the boundaries dispute guaranteeing peace and stability in the region not only Curfew.
The people of Ilobu, Ifon-Osun and Erin-Osun are looking up to your administration for a quick solution.
I implore you to take immediate action, demonstrating your commitment to justice, compassion and leadership.
Yours Sincerely
Comrade Durojaye Timileyin (PKA Small Body Big Engine )
