How I Sold Limousine Gifted To Me To Buy Motorcycles For My Pastors — Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has recounted an emotional testimony about how he handled costly gifts during the early days of his ministry.

Speaking at the church’s thanksgiving service, Pastor Adeboye recalled being surprised by an elderly woman who gifted him a Mercedes Benz at a time when he was still commuting by bus.

“I almost said, ‘Alakoba wo le leyi?’ I hope this one is not trying to get me into trouble,” he said.

Confused about what to do with the car, he said he parked it and avoided using it, until he was later cautioned by God in a dream for rejecting the woman’s generosity.

“Why are you robbing my daughter of her blessing? She sowed a seed, and you are not allowing the seed to germinate,” he quoted God as saying.

Acting on the instruction, Pastor Adeboye said he handed the vehicle to his late deputy, Pastor Abiodun, who advised him to enjoy the gift himself, but he insisted on giving it away.

Shortly afterwards, he received three additional Mercedes Benz cars, an experience he described as astonishing.

He added that while he was still considering what to do with the three cars, a man arrived at his house around 2:00am in a rare six-door Mercedes limousine, explaining that God had instructed him to deliver it immediately.

“I said to God, ‘Even if I die and they put me in this car, I will wake up. Will you permit me to sell the car?’” he recalled.

After praying, he said he received permission and went ahead to sell the luxury vehicle.

“I remember I sold it and used the money to buy motorcycles for my pastors,” he concluded.
