See some of the reactions below;

Mcnigel: A sad reminder to all law enforcement officers out there life ain’t a movie legendary is very costly. RIP Cde.

Calvin Ncube: At least it’s not a civilian who was killed, An many people who died coz of police misdeeds are parents as well.

Comrade Shumba: My home girl we grew up together i joined ZNA it gave her motivation and she joined the ZRP
Even though i left latter on we kept in touch she was dedicated a lot imagine she grew up staying with relatives a Gogo infact my heart is bleeding such a good soul.

Goya_joshua: Be careful when executing your duties out, we live once. Don’t be courageous for nothing. Your family matters!!!

Ba_SainThiago: It’s sad indeed. But an all female unit chasing these thugs is something unacceptable. How on earth, some are serving and some are ex-soldiers and ex- police. I spent 3 months in remand at Chikurubi Maximum last year, interacting with those guys. They are evil.

Umgameli: For all the naysayers downplaying the courage of the lady,fuck you.Not only are you insensitive but have no shame.Imagine if these robbers had attacked you,would you have wanted the police to act?If yes,why are you so inconsiderate. There is more to life than twitter comments.

Brian Ncube: women belong in the kitchen some jobs aren’t meant for women.

It was learnt that Team Lozikeyi is an all-female detective unit within the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s second-largest city.

Named after Queen Lozikeyi Dlodlo, a revered historical figure who led the Ndebele uprising against British colonial rule in 1896, the unit embodies her legacy of resilience and leadership.

Officially launched on July 5, 2024, Team Lozikeyi represents a pioneering effort to combat crime while promoting gender equality and inclusion in a traditionally male-dominated field.

The unit consists of highly trained female officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), tasked with tackling complex and high-profile criminal cases, including armed robberies, serial rapes, and illegal wildlife trafficking.

Since its inception, Team Lozikeyi has gained recognition for its swift and effective operations. Notable achievements include the arrest and conviction of serial rapist Prosper Bhule, sentenced to 232 years in prison, and the apprehension of two men, Jonathan Mkwebu and Brilliant Mkosana, for illegal possession of ivory worth thousands of dollars in July 2024.

These successes highlight the team’s skill, determination, and strategic approach to law enforcement.
