AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE
Dignitaries, on Sunday, October 1, 2023, stormed Iwo in Osun State to celebrate the grand finale of the Balogun Jorjor Football Competition at the Oluwo Stadium, AMILOADED reports.
Some of the dignitaries present at the event marking Nigeria’s Independence Day were the Oluwo of Iwoland, the Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola; Akin Ogunbiyi, Omoba Dotun Babayemi, Debo Badru, Rt. General Lamidi Adeosun, Giwa, Alarape, and Hon Diekola Ismail, among others.
Speaking, the Convener of the Balogun Jorjor Football Competition, Hon. Abeeb Muyiwa Abdulamid, expressed gratitude to those who he said contributed to the event’s success.
Abdumalid stressed the “transformative power” of football, highlighting its ability to address social issues and promote inclusivity within local communities.
He also thanked the youths in Iwo for their “overwhelming turnout” just as he appreciated his gratitude to security personnel, including the DPO, Jamatu Tawun Jaysuhl, Amotekun, OPCI, and CADET.
The event also paid tribute to late leaders, Late Ajadi Asaliwa and Late Elder Tunde Akinlawon, whose contributions to the development of Iwoland were honored with respect and gratitude.
Abdulamid added that the second edition of the football competition united the community under the banner of progress and togetherness.
