AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE

The leaders of the organised labour are currently at the State House for their meeting with representatives of the government over the impending indefinite strike planned to commence on Tuesday, October 3.

The Labour leaders last week announced they will be embarking on an indefinite strike on Tuesday, October 3 over the failure of the government to address the economic hardship accompanying the removal of fuel subsidy.

On Sunday, October 1, Chief of Staff to President Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, met with the leaders of the TUC and NLC and some proposals by the Federal government were announced. One of which is N35, 000 provisional wage increase for six months, waiver of VAT for diesel for the next six months amongst others. The Labour leaders had told the Federal government delegation that it will meet with its members to decide if the offers made so far are satisfactory. This morning, the National Executive Council of the TUC and NLC met and deliberated on the offers made so far.

The Labour leaders are now in a meeting with the Federal government delegation, after which the decision to either go on with the strike or suspend it will be announced.
