The Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, has announced the appointment of a Doctor of Electrical Engineering, Joseph Petinrin, as acting Rector of the polytechnic.
Petinrin’s appointment was disclosed in a letter by Alhaji T. Agboola, the Registrar of the institution, who also doubles as the Secretary of the Governing Council of the polytechnic.
Before his current appointment, Petinrin had served in the polytechnic as the Deputy Rector Academics and he would succeed Dr Adekolawole Edaogbogun, who had completed his tenure of office.
A copy of the letter, conveying Petinrin’s appointment obtained by newsmen, further read in parts, “Sequel to the Election for the position of Acting Rector and in line with the Provisions of the Federal Polytechnic (Amendment) Act 2019.
I am pleased to inform you that the Governing Council of the Polytechnic has approved your Appointment as the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic with effect from 3rd November, 2022 pending the appointment of a substantive Rector or for a period of six months, whichever comes first.”
