…..as Ex-Osun Senator from the ward resigns from PDP
Ward leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Boripe Local Government, Osun State, have reacted to the resignation of Senator Felix Kola Ogunwale from the party.
The reaction came during a special ward congress held on Monday, May 12, 2025, at St. Peters Primary School Playing Field, Iragbiji.
The speech, delivered by Alhaji Adegoke Abayomi on behalf of Alhaja Taibat Oladimeji, the Ward 1 Chairperson, addressed concerns about the state of the party following Ogunwale’s exit.
According to the communique, party members and leaders from Ward 01 considered the senator’s resignation a non-issue due to his long absence from party activities.
“The congress, which was witnessed by the Chairman of PDP in the Local Government, had in attendance, party members, leaders and stakeholders from our Ward (Ward 01) which has the largest Voter Register in Boripe Local Government, as well as observers. The special ward congress affirmed that the exit of Senator Felix Kola Ogunwale (Jumokol) from the party (PDP) was a relief for the party,” the communique stated.
It added that the senator had not participated in any party activities for over six months, and his absence had already been managed by the ward leadership.
The congress reassured the party’s state and national leadership that Boripe Ward 01 remains intact and focused on the party’s future success.
“We remained faithful, undeterred and resolute to uphold our party, keep the flag flying and work hard to achieve victory for our party (PDP) in all future elections,” it emphasized.
The congress also passed a vote of confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke, praising his achievements in governance.
It noted that, “every faithful and patriotic party member(s) or leader(s) of the party should be proud to remain in the party and support our Governor.”
The ward congress endorsed Governor Adeleke for a second term, citing his performance as a strong basis for continued leadership.
It was gathered that Senator Felix Ogunwale represented Osun Central Senatorial District in the Senate between 2003 and 2007.
