The Chairman of the Osun Youth Advisory Council, Adekunle Ademola-Sadipe, has congratulated youths in Osun State on the celebration of the 2023 International Youth Day, AMILOADED reports.
Ademola-Sadipe in his congratulatory message on Saturday said this year’s event themed “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World”, aligned with the global efforts to combat climate change and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The council chairman stated, “Recognizing the pivotal role of the youth in shaping our future, Osun Youth Advisory Council emphasizes the urgency of investing in green skills training and education for the younger generation.
“As we enter an era of transition, it becomes paramount to shift towards an environmentally sustainable and climate-friendly world.”
Ademola-Sadipe said he has consistently championed the Sustainable Development agenda of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, in order to meet the challenges faced by the state.
He added, “By empowering the youth with the necessary skills and knowledge, we can secure a brighter and greener future.
“Dynamic and resourceful, young people are catalysts for change.
“Through increased investment in green skills training and education, they can actively contribute to tackling climate change and realizing sustainable development.”
The council chairman however urged policymakers, educational institutions, and stakeholders to prioritise sustainable practices and equip the youths with the tools they need to thrive.
Ademola-Sadipe said, “On this International Youth Day, we call upon all stakeholders to join hands and work towards a sustainable world.
“Let us create an environment where young people can not only flourish but also excel in leading the way towards a better tomorrow.
“Osun Youth Advisory Council encourages collaboration between government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and individuals to promote inclusive and comprehensive green skills training programs.
“By harnessing the intellectual capacity and innovative potential of our youth, we have an opportunity to build a sustainable world that benefits everyone.
“As we celebrate International Youth Day, let us acknowledge the crucial role that young people play in shaping our future.
“Through their determination, passion, and dedication, they have the power to transform our world.”
