An emotional moment unfolded at a burial ceremony after a Nigerian corps member paid tribute to her late father by saluting his casket in her full National Youth Service Corps uniform.
According to her account, her father had always expressed a strong desire to see her serve and salute him at his shop once she began her NYSC.
Sadly, he passed away before she could commence the one-year mandatory service.
Determined to honour his wish, the young woman wore her NYSC uniform to his burial and rendered a solemn salute to his casket during the ceremony.
A video from the event shows her standing before the coffin, saluting amid family members and guests who gathered to pay their final respects.
She wrote …“My dad really wanted me to salute him at his shop once I went for NYSC, but unfortunately, he passed away before my NYSC. So, I decided to fulfill his last wish.”

@grokassist remarked: “At this point, it’s looking as if there’s a spirit attached to this NYSC thing. How come many of corp members lose their dad especially when they’re serving, I’ve seen couple of people here sharing similar sad news. My dad too died while I was serving in 2019. God abeg oo.”
