Osogbo St. Mark’s High School 1998 Alumni Reaffirm Unity, Support

The 1998 alumni of St. Mark’s Commercial High School, Osogbo, have reaffirmed their unity and commitment to mutual support during their 6th annual reunion programme.

The reunion was held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Fusion Point Events Centre, Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.

Speaking at the programme, the President of the 1998 Set Alumni, Elebuibon Faniyi Ajani, said the gathering was a moment to remember past dreams, friendships, and memories formed during their secondary school days.

Ajani stated that the set had continued to make steady progress, noting that within the last one year, the alumni supported three of their members with a total sum of N450,000 and also paid their annual dues to the parent alumni body.

He explained that no major project was executed in the school during the period because the group focused mainly on members’ welfare, which he described as the core purpose of the association.

Ajani appreciated members for their various contributions and encouraged continued unity, mutual support, and commitment to excellence among the alumni.

He expressed happiness over the reunion, describing it as a rare opportunity to see former classmates who had grown into parents and family people while still maintaining strong bonds.

In her address, the Principal of St. Mark’s Commercial High School, Mrs. O. M. Omorilewa, represented by the Vice Principal, described the reunion as more than a social gathering, saying it reflected shared memories, lasting relationships, and a strong commitment to the institution that shaped the alumni.

She commended the 1998 set for their contributions to the school, which improved security, and the donation of marker boards that enhanced teaching and learning.

The school management also appealed for further support in areas such as the provision of tables and chairs for teachers and students, as well as library furniture to create a better learning environment.

Also speaking, Hamzat Lookman thanked God for the grace that allowed him and his colleagues to return to their alma mater for the 6th reunion, 28 years after their graduation.
