No fewer than 25 persons have been confirmed dead following an attack by suspected herdsmen on Edikwu Ankpali community in Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.
It was gathered that the assailants stormed the area around 6 p.m., opening fire on unsuspecting villagers.
Sources also confirmed that several residents were abducted during the deadly assault.
A resident of the village, identified as Vincent, told the publication that the community was completely overrun by the armed attackers.
