The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu I, has once again demonstrated his commitment to grassroots welfare by taking his philanthropic gesture beyond the palace walls.
In a recent show of royal compassion, the monarch was spotted distributing food items and cash directly to residents in his community.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, the revered monarch emphasized his dedication to improving the lives of the less privileged, widows, orphans, and aged individuals.
According to him, food distribution is a regular activity at the palace, especially on Mondays and Fridays, when vulnerable members of society are welcomed to benefit from free meals.
“Conducting a free food distribution to my subjects in Iwo. The orphans, widows and less privileged visit my palace on Monday and Friday of every week to benefit from the free meals/feeding,” Oluwo stated.
However, in a special act of outreach, Oba Akanbi took the benevolence a step further by personally visiting the elderly and disadvantaged residents in their homes, sharing food and monetary gifts.
“Occasionally, when I feel like, I extend the gesture to the aged men. I will take kingship to their doorsteps. One of those few moments is captured here,” he added in the post accompanied by images from the outreach.
The Oluwo further stressed the importance of impactful leadership and generosity. “If you have, let people feel it. If they don’t feel you, you are not useful,” he noted.
