Grammy-nominated singer Davido has described his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, as the best governor the state has ever had.
Speaking on the Culture Knock Out podcast hosted by Chris and Baloo, Davido expressed deep admiration for Adeleke’s leadership, noting that despite early criticism and being underestimated due to his well-known love for dancing, the governor has proven himself to be highly effective.
Davido said his uncle’s journey is a lesson in not judging people by appearances or hobbies, adding that many never expected Adeleke, the last born in his father’s family to occupy a public office, let alone excel in it.
According to him, Adeleke has surpassed all expectations and delivered impressive results as governor.
He said: “My uncle, the Dancing Governor is good vibes. He has an amazing story, he is the last born of my dad’s family. They [Osun people] never believed that he would become a governor.
“He is a real example of, ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’; just because somebody likes to dance and have a good time, it doesn’t mean when it is time to work, he won’t. Now, he’s been the best Governor that they’ve ever had.”
