
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command has arrested and prosecuted three individuals for vandalizing water pipes belonging to the Osun State Water Corporation.
This was contained in a statement issued by ASC Kehinde Adeleke, the Spokesperson on Wednesday, and made available to newsmen.
According to the statement, one Michael Odeniran 43 years old, Ganiyu Mutiu Olalekan, 32 years old and Muritala Ridwan, 32 years old were arrested on 10th of April 2025, at about 11:00am at Oloki Reservoir Site via Akoda, along Gbongan-Osogbo road, Osun State
The State Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiy noted that, discreet investigation revealed that the suspects, who are laterite miners, damaged a 450mm pipe while mining laterite.
They were subsequently arraigned before a Magistrate Court at Ede, on the 14th of April , 2025, where they pleaded not guilty. The court remanded them at Ife Correctional Centre.
Commandant Sotiyo therefore warns those vandalizing government infrastructure to desist from such act or face the consequences.’ NSCDC is committed to protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, and those found culpable will be brought to justice’’ Osun NSCDC boss said
