Female Driver Cries Bitterly After Passenger Beats Her

In Lagos State, a female commercial driver has demanded justice after being attacked and abused by an Agbero while attempting to stop the theft of her car’s battery.

In a widely shared video on Tuesday, the woman was shown crying with face swollen as she described how the Agbero got into her car pretending to be a passenger close to the Oriental Hotel and saying he was going to the Nigerian Law School.

The victim claimed that she grew suspicious after catching a glimpse of him trying to remove her car’s battery in her rearview mirror.

He allegedly attacked her violently when she challenged him, hitting her, tearing her clothing, and physically pulling her in public.

Speaking mostly in Yoruba, she said: “He started beating me when I asked him where he was taking my battery,” she sobbed in the video.

“Look at my face, look at what he did to me. He tore my clothes and battered me. Please, anyone watching this video, help me. Call human rights. Is this how a woman trying to survive should be treated?

“This man must be brought to justice. Let him be an example. I won’t leave him until I get justice. I’m doing a daily job just to survive. Is being a female commercial driver in Lagos a crime?”
