The much-anticipated “Sew On The Street” initiative by ANIKECLOTHINGS, has successfully provided free custom-made Sallah outfits to over 200 underprivileged children in Osun State.
The three-day event sponsored by Hon. Ibraheem Taofik Kayode (ITK), which ran from March 27 to March 30, 2025, turned the streets into an open-air sewing workshop, delivering not just clothing but smiles and hope to many families facing economic hardship.
Speaking with the media during the event, the creative director of ANIKECLOTHINGS, Salami Adijat Anike, emphasized that the project was designed to alleviate the financial burden on parents while ensuring that children could celebrate Sallah with dignity.
“This initiative is not just about sewing clothes; it’s about spreading love and hope during difficult times. We wanted to support parents struggling with the economic situation and put smiles on children’s faces,” she said.
Throughout the event, tailors from ANIKECLOTHINGS worked tirelessly, setting up sewing machines on the streets and crafting beautiful, well-fitted outfits for each child.
The enthusiasm and joy of the beneficiaries were evident as they tried on their new clothes, radiating excitement ahead of the Sallah festivities.
Parents expressed heartfelt gratitude, with many saying the initiative had given their children the opportunity to celebrate in a way they never thought possible.
As the event came to a close, it was clear that “Sew On The Street” had gone beyond just providing new clothes, it had restored hope, uplifted spirits, and strengthened the sense of community.
