‘They Don’t Call Me Talk and Do for Nothing,’ says Gov Adeleke

……as workers take appreciation rally to governor’s office…

Osun State workers on Monday stormed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s office in their numbers to thank him for approving the new minimum wage for civil servants.

The rally, held at Abere in Osogbo, began at the gate and ended at the Governor’s office, Bola-ige house, where workers were received by Gov Adeleke and top government functionaries.

Addressing the workers, Gov Adeleke affirmed that they don’t call him “talk and do” governor for nothing, as he fulfills whatever promises he makes. He added that during his campaign, he promised that his number one priority would focus on workers’ welfare.

The governor stated that the state will be industrialized to make more money and improve Internal Generated Revenue, which will be channeled towards the welfare of workers in the state.

Governor Adeleke reiterated that he is not going to abandon any project started by the opposition administration for the benefit of citizens, while urging workers to keep praying for Osun to reach the promised land.

Speaking at the rally, the leadership of the workers’ union thanked the governor for approving ₦75,000 for current workers, ₦25,000 for pensioners, including the one-month arrears payment and palliatives released to all categories of workers in the state.

In his separate remarks, the State Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Abayomi Arapasopo, declared that Gov Adeleke has made landmark achievements that have touched the hearts and minds of every Osun worker since he assumed office.

Backing the NLC Chairman, the TUC State Chairman, Comrade Fasasi, lauded the impressive performance of the governor, confirming that the governor is their man now and beyond 2026.
