Osun Osogbo community, and wives of Osunyemi Ifarinu ‘Baba Oosa’, have debunked the death rumors of the revered Baba Oosa of Osogboland.
In a statement signed by Osunyemi Ifarinu’s wives, Rukayat Adebayo and Nafisat Adebayo, on Saturday, described the news circulating regarding his death as false and unfounded.
The statement reads, “The Osun Osogbo community, close associates and wives of Osunyemi Ifarinu, the revered Baba Oosa of Osogboland who is an esteemed priest of the Osun sacred grove, wish to categorically debunk the false rumors circulating regarding his death.
“We are pleased to confirm that Osunyemi Ifarinu, the Baba Oosa of Osogboland, is alive, in excellent health, and continues to carry out his sacred duties in service to the Osun deity and the people of Osogboland. These unfounded rumors, which have recently spread across social media and other platforms, are false and should be disregarded by the public.
“The Baba Oosa remains deeply committed to his spiritual leadership and the protection of the Osun tradition. His role as a guardian of the Osun Grove and a custodian of Yoruba cultural heritage continues to be a source of strength and inspiration to the community.
“We call on all media outlets and individuals to avoid sharing unverified information that may cause undue distress and confusion. For accurate updates and official communication regarding the Baba Oosa, we urge the public to rely solely on messages from his family, his representatives, or the Osun priesthood.
“The community of Osogboland and the Osun faithful stand firmly in unity, trusting in the spiritual leadership of Osunyemi Ifarinu. May we continue to uphold truth and honor, rejecting falsehoods that seek to divide us.”
