…..many people don’t know taraba state exist
A Nigerian lawyer, Barrister Grace Abe, has called on Nigerians, particularly those of Taraba origin, to support Asogya Wunuji Mannaseh, who is currently attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the longest reading marathon, AMILOADED reports.
In a post on her social media page, she noted that Mannaseh’s attempt is aimed at putting Taraba on the map, as many Nigerians are unaware of the state’s existence. She appealed to netizens to give the marathon reading the awareness it deserves to encourage him.
AMILOADED correspondent gathered that the 160-hour marathon, which is currently underway in Taraba State, began on April 15th and is scheduled to end by April 21st, 2024.
Her post read, “A bibliophile named Asogya Wunuji Mannaseh, who hails from Taraba, is attempting to break the world Guinness record for the longest reading, being held in Wukari local government area. However, it’s surprising that 70 percent of those who have posted and shared in the joy since the attempt started are from Wukari and even a greater population from Wukari itself ignored the attempt. Please, he is doing this to put Taraba on the map; it is not just for the Jukun nation or Wukari alone. When Hilda Baci attempted to break her record, everyone from Akwa Ibom supported her because the glory goes back to Akwa Ibom. Last month, when Victor Tarteger from Benue attempted the same cook-a-thon, the massive support he got from his state alone gave him the publicity he wanted. The Idoma, Igede, Etulo, and Tiv communities supported him.
“If you could post and celebrate Hilda Baci, who is not from Taraba, why not support your brother and fellow Taraban, Asogya Wunuji Mannaseh? Please, I beg you all, let’s all post about Asogya Wunuji Mannaseh until he gets the necessary attention. If we don’t do it for a Taraban, no one will, because even within the North, we are marginalized, let alone Nigeria. Many people don’t even know about the existence of Taraba State. You can help us by posting on your Instagram, Twitter, Facebook handles, and tagging bloggers as well until he gets the necessary attention.
“Let’s help Asogya put Taraba on the map.”
As of the time of filing this report, Asogya had read for over 95 hours out of the proposed 160 hours.
