AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE
The traditional chiefs in Moro community in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State have spoken about the selection of the new monarch of the town, AMILOADED reports.
Speaking at a press conference in the community on Wednesday, the chiefs emphasised commitment to following the will of God in the selection process.
They vowed to shun bribery and corruption and ensure a fair and just transition of leadership.
On the programmes for the burial of late Oba Ezekiel Oyeniyi, a Juma’at service was held in Moro on Friday, April 5.
The chiefs, however, noted that as a programme reflecting the diversity of Moro, both religious ceremonies will pay respect to the late traditional ruler who had deep ties with both Islamic and Christian faiths.
They added that Saturday, April 5, will mark the culmination of the mourning period with the final burial and thanksgiving ceremony for Oyeniyi.
The chiefs said, “The community will come together to bid farewell to their revered leader, remembering his contributions and legacy. Amidst prayers and reflections, the community will reaffirm their commitment to unity and righteousness.
“Throughout the ceremonies, the chiefs will continue to uphold the values of their community, seeking divine guidance in the selection of a new Oba.”
They, therefore, expressed gratitude for the support of political leaders and affirmed their stance against any form of political interference or corruption.
“As Moro prepares to bid farewell to one era and usher in the next chapter of its leadership, we stand united in faith and integrity,” the chiefs stressed.
