Ramadan: Rep Bamidele Salam Distributes Food Items To 6,000 Constituents In Osun

In a bid to cushion hardship during Ramadan, the lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Bamidele Salam, has commenced the distribution of food palliatives to 6,000 Muslim faithful in the four Local Government Areas in his constituency in Osun State.

The lawmaker began the distribution of the food items in Ede, Osun State on Tuesday.
Islamic cleric and leaders of Islamic groups from different communities, among others converged at the country home of late Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke in Ede to take the food items.

Speaking at the event, the chairman of the distribution committee, Alhaji Abdulraman Elesin, commended Salam for the initiative, saying it would go a long way in ameliorating hardship during Ramadan.

Elesin said, “I was surprised and pleased when I heard about this programme. We distributed the palliatives as instructed and we can only thank Hon. Bamidele Salam for deeming it fit to reach out to Muslims at this critical period. This is pure humanity and may Almighty Allah bless him and continue to be with him.

“It is not easy for many people in this present economy, so this is a thoughtful initiative to give people over 6,000 families with the Constituency beans, flour and rice to support them during Ramadan.”

Also speaking, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State, Alhaji Yusuf Adebayo, commended the effort of the lawmaker, saying it has helped the people in the constituency.

“This is a very fantastic programme as we all know the state of the country and this is first time this type of program is happening and we all bear witness to his good deeds,” Adebayo said.

One of the beneficiaries, Awoniran Muyibat from Ejigbo Local Government Area expressed gratitude to Salam, saying, “We the community and everyone in Ede zone appreciate the efforts of Hon Bamidele Salam and by the grace of God this is just the beginning of great things and we pray God continue to help him.”
