The Senior Special Assistant to Osun State Governor on Civil Society Organizations, Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel, has urged the residents of Ifon-Osun and Ilobu communities in the state to put an end to their communal clash, AMILOADED reports.
Adebisi in a statement on Saturday called on the people of the communities to embrace peace and unity, adding that the clash has caused suffering and division the people of Osun State.
He stated, “I write to you today with a heavy heart, deeply saddened by the ongoing inter-communal clash that has resulted in the loss of lives and properties in our beloved communities.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones and properties during this conflict. May their souls rest in peace, and may those affected find strength and solace in these trying times.
“It is imperative that we, as a community, come together to embrace peace and unity. This strife has caused untold suffering and division among us, and it is high time we set aside our differences and work towards reconciliation and harmony.
“Together, we can rebuild what has been lost and ensure a brighter future for our children and generations to come.
“I implore those behind this issue to reflect on the consequences of their actions and consider the principle of karma. Let us all discourage our youth from being led astray by individuals who seek to exploit them for nefarious purposes.
“Instead, let us empower our young ones to build a brighter future for themselves and our community. Remember, posterity will judge each and every one of us based on our actions today.”
Adebisi thanked Osun State Govenror, Ademola Adeleke, for his swift intervention in the dispute, noting that the governor’s decision to order security operatives to take control of the situation demonstrates his commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the people of Osun State.
“We are fortunate to have a leader who prioritizes the welfare of his constituents.
“Let us join hands, mend our wounds, and work tirelessly to make our communities a great place for all. Together, we can overcome this challenging period and emerge stronger and more united than ever before,” he added.
