The Swaga support group under President Bola Tinubu’s administration has distributed palliatives to members and non-members of the group, AMILOADED reports.
The palliatives were distributed at the Tinubu/Shettima House in Osogbo, Osun State on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, the leader of the group, Senator Adeyeye, said the turnout was impressive, adding, “We actually limited the crowd because what matters is that the palliative should get to all wards and minorities.
“We also made a logistic arrangement on how it will get to the local government because the bulk of it is in the warehouse.
“Swaga has a fantastic structure in Southwest so we are using the structure to make sure the palliatives get to the grassroots.”
In the same vein, Hon Oyetunji Ojo who is the convener of the Swaga initiative, said, “We are here to show appreciation to the people and to ensure the people that all the economy crisis will be a thing of the past soon.
“We are sharing a bit of palliative from Swaga, with our little individual resources we have managed to put up 600 bags of rice for each state to assist the government.
“The rice is going to all Nigerians not partisan”
Addressing the gathering, the Osun State Coordinator, SWAGA’23, Hon. Ayo Omidiran noted that the palliative was not only for members of the group or the party but for all to benefit.
Omidiran said adequate measures have been put in place to ensure that the palliative was distributed and got to the expected beneficiaries in the various local government areas of the State.
“We want to thank the people for supporting President Bola Ahmed. The group knows that not everyone will get the palliative from the federal government so we are giving our own token to make sure the grassroots benefit from the palliatives.”
One of the beneficiaries from Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State, Adeola Fadipe, thanked the organisers (Swaga) for making the palliative get to the grassroots.
